Operation Clean Sweep
Rosti Group is a signatory to Operation Clean Sweep (OCS). As part of the program, we strive to eliminate resin pellet, flake and powder loss.
This is an ambitious goal, but we recognize the damage that plastic can cause in the natural environment, and we are committed to handling resin pellets responsibly.

How do we operate more sustainably?
Waste Reduction
Less waste across operations.
Recycling Improvement
Improved recycling practices.
Community Responsibility
Responsible local engagement.
Sustainable Operations
Operating with environmental care.
About Operation Clean Sweep
Operation Clean Sweep is a global program focused on preventing plastic pellet, flake, and powder loss, helping keep plastics out of waterways through best-practice guidelines, audits, and reporting.
Program Overview
Established in 1991 and administered by the Plastics Industry Association and the American Chemistry Council, Operation Clean Sweep provides tools and guidance for responsible plastics handling.
Best Practices & Guidance
The program publishes reports, audits, and guidelines to support practical improvements and reduce the risk of plastic material entering waterways.
Industry Commitment
Hundreds of plastics companies worldwide have signed the Operation Clean Sweep pledge to prevent resin loss during handling and operations.
Rosti’s Commitment
Rosti supports sustainability through waste reduction, improved recycling, and responsible operations in local communities—using programs like Operation Clean Sweep to strengthen environmental best practices.

Taking practical steps to eliminate pellet loss
Rosti are committed to supporting the need to improve the environment for future generations.
A kilogram of resin contains around 42,000 pellets, and Rosti uses circa 55,000 tons of pellets every year, so being accountable for all the pellets we use requires a concerted effort. One of the first steps we took was to make sure that every drain in all of our factories are fitted with steel mesh grids that prevent any loose pellets from washing into the water ecosystem. These drains are checked every week, to make sure they are clear. If a significant number of pellets are found, then an investigation is done to find out the source, and corrective action is taken.
Education & Training
Our commitment to minimising pellet loss is built on knowledge, responsibility, and consistent practices across all production sites worldwide.
Employee Training
Relevant employees across all facilities are trained to understand the importance of responsible handling of plastic resins and pellet loss prevention.
Partner & Contractor Training
Training is extended to external contractors, including drivers and distributors, to ensure environmentally sound procedures are followed throughout the entire value chain.
